Fire alarm nearly drove me to drink!

So last night the upstairs fire alarm started bleeping every 30 seconds, it was half 1 in the morning as I'd already had trouble sleeping. The landlord didn't answer the phone and the police basically told me they weren't about to kick a door down for it. My upstairs neighbors were out of town.

I was going completely insane. At one point I shoved tissue paper into my ears and wrapped a t shirt around my head and sat in the bathtub (the room furthest away from the beeping) trying to drown it out. I needed to go swimming training the next day.

I've had cravings on and off like everyone does but this time I felt like every nerve ending was standing on end for me to get wasted, smoke and pass out until I could call up and sort the stupid thing out the next day.

I didn't and completed my three hour training on zero sleep before collapsing in bed the second somebody came round to turn it off.

Just thought I'd tell my story, funny how something so small can make you feel that crappy, huh?

Good job, that certainly must have been annoying! Hope your landlord got it sorted out.
