My first call last night
My first call last night
So earlier I was tempted to drink but now the temptation is gone. Thanks SR community again you helped me.
I wanted to talk about what happened last night. It was 3 Am I was fast asleep and the phone rang. On the other end of the phone was gent that was about to drink and needed someone to talk with.
On my local meeting list, I put on the list, call anytime, I never expected a call at 3 am. I talk with this kind person for 2 hours, while he pondered life, wished at one time he was dead, and then finally he got so tired he fell asleep.
I was so honored to have received this call at such a late hour, someone needed help and I was able to help them at that moment. I tried to call them today, but there was no answer. I worry about them, I mean now I feel like my sobriety, helps others in their sobriety.
That is a responsibility, I can't even describe, here I am hardly sober, but someone leaned on me in their time of need. I am going to stay sober, because people like me and that guy rely on getting help even at 3 am in the morning.
Stay safe an sober friends TDG
