Well, I got my blood test results back and everything is really good EXCEPT that my hemoglobin A1C is up a little which means that I might be pre-diabetic. This was a complete surprise but now that I look back on it I realize that I have had some burning and tingling in the bottom of my feet and tingling in my fingers, which can be a symptom. I've gained a bit of weight since I quit drinking 7 weeks ago, and that doesn't help. The A1C measures the blood sugar variations from the last 2 months, so I imagine it would have been worse if I hadn't quit drinking. I guess I quit just in time. If I start to eat right and lose some weight I probably can reverse the damage, but it would be a lot worse if I was drinking.

You are right, it would be worse if you were still drinking! Glad the tests came back well overall.

Sounds like good news...almost everyting OK and a likelyhood that everything will be OK eventually. Glad you were able to catch this while you could.
