Hi everyone, this is definitely a first for me. Ive tried to quit drinking for the past year but not taken it seriously enough. Today is the day ive chosen to start living my life again free. Im ready and I will be grateful for any support

Thanks, joining this forum is a huge step as im a complete technophobe but I know I need to be more proactive. Im going back to aa tomo and im going to get a sponsor. The thought of asking for help is terrifying but the thought of drinking again is even more so.

Congratulations. I'm on day 53 and I can't believe how much my life has changed. Obviously my family has not really forgiven me for all these years acting like a jerk and shutting everyone out. But I am praying for each and everyone of my kids that they will be able to see the changes I'm going through. You will be so glad how quickly you get back on your feet and feeling like a better person. The spiritual part of your life will swell and get you through the hard times. Your spiritual defense against the first drink is the most important because it is the first drink that gets us drunk.

Congratulations Bella. You have made a great decision. SR is a good place to start. Post often, don't be shy. The people here want you to make it and will help all they can. The things here that have really helped me is reading the boards. I post on the 24 hour thread every day, pledging not to drink for the next twenty four hours. Also we have meetings here every Tuesday and Friday at 8 pm central time. I love this place. When I first got here I lived in the chat room. Any time I wanted a drink I went to chat and someone was always there. Again, I am so happy you have joined us. We are all here for you.
