I've been where you are - you can do it again.

I might add as a sidebar - some vanilla extracts contains more alcohol by % than wine. Make sure you use non-alcohol vanilla.

Congratulations, Raider!

WE do things when we are drunk that do not define us. What defines us is what we do about becoming that drunk. You are changing the process of becoming that angry person you don't like, which is dealing with your crap. Good on you for this Pam!

I was astonished to find I was nasty and confrontational when drinking. That's the furthest thing from the real me - but at the end of my drinking days, people were telling me that's how I was. One of many reasons I just couldn't touch the stuff anymore.

Happy to know you're on your second day - and so proud.

As my drinking progressed, I lost the "happy" stage too and went right to mean.

You aren't alone.

Good job on Day One!

So glad you made it back too
Maybe make a little gratitude list starting with a loving husband who might not always communicate well and can be horribly chirpy when you are detoxing but stuck with you all these years and of course second would be that little hairless Fuzz...

Raider, my mom is a hideously mean drunk. She is the only person in my life who has told that me she hates me . . . in a drunken rage. I don't think alcohol ever brings the best out in anybody.

I got "balls" when I drank and I'm a female. I was 10 feet tall and bullet proof. Now I'm 56 and having Hot flashes. I don't need alcohol to be a bi#$ch. It's coming naturally.
