Yo Cowgirlie! Because you 'slipped' is the wrong reason to not join us. We want to hear from you - especially if you are having troubles.

I'm sure you can come up with a delectable low calorie dish to tempt us with. Let's see one.

Stay sober. And enjoy the weekend.

I don't know Kevin. I would say it is cuisine. Certainly more ambitious than my bowl of cereal and my sons toast. I like savory for breakfast but just usually don't have the energy.

Cowgirlie, it is never too late to join in for the party! It does feel good to get up without a hangover and go to the park. And keep them for trashing the house. All good things.

I hope kayaking goes swimmingly Ken! I couldn't resist it. Sorry. I think kayaking would be so cool. I'm interested in how it went.

Trying to muster up interest and energy to do anything. Did the dishes. My parents are out of town and my mother mentioned that their raspberries were almost ready to pick and I should do that if I wanted so my daughter and I will go check the house and pick raspberries. None will make it home, I am sure. My daughter is a raspberry fiend.

So, maybe a shower is in order. And change out of my night shirt. A plan. Finally!

Long story short - I found an error on my tax return this morning that is going to save me several thousand bucks.

I celebrated by dumpster diving. Literally. I have my son clearing brush this summer and I rented an enormous dumpster for him to throw it in. He filled it up and then looked at me like I was crazy when I told him to climb in and start stomping/hacking/lopping/restacking to make more room. Today I showed him how it's done! One fat old man with stitches (fueled by pork) repacked half that dumpster in an hour, so he's flat out of excuses.

Non, you mean like every time I have to unload the dishwasher and 'repack' it to get twice as many dishes in it?

Zackly, LBrain.

In other news...

I have tools to build storage for my tools so I can buy more tools...

Not particularly fond of the red oak/pine mix, but one of my goals was to build these completely from scraps I already had and not buy additional wood.

Hey! Who put that rake in my shop? And a carpet cleaner?

Hey Weekenders!
Happy Saturday!

Taking advantage of the one day of clouds and cool....put some chicken thighs into the 'makes food delicious ceramic oven pot' with some tomato and paprika and some great northern beans. Let that simmer all day.

Did a couple of yard sales this morning before the rain is supposed to show. The only thing I was slightly interested in was an old tin with a pig on the front that said it was licorice. Is this the candy you were hooked on Ruby?
Of course, now that I am home I wish I had purchased it. That is the kind of garage sale weekend I am having. I see something I like, but I don't quite make it to purchasing, then I am slightly regretful when I get home.
Ah well, there will be more junk for buying next weekend.
Got Dr Who going on while I paint. It is a good day.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Was it beautiful?

Yes.

Was it picture perfect?

Yes.

Was it unnerving and not fun since I cannot swim and the boat was unnaturally narrow and I could die at any given moment and .... And... And...

Yes.

Will I do it again?

No.

I stood on my own today.

I mean I have been alone now for 9 months.

I have come to understand aloneness.

I have always known loneliness.

But I broke a barrier today and lived alone.

While I have concluded that sea kayaking is not a skill set of mine, I lived.

I am supremely proud of myself in the undertaking.

I won't be doing it again... Sea kayaking that is.... But I surly will be living again.

And stop calling me Shirley...

K

Weasel! How fabulous. You went after something terrifying and came out the other side intact. Now you do not have to voluntarily do something like that again for at least another decade Very impressive. Beautiful pic of your day. Thanks!

Uh, what's your vector Victor?

Weasel - You are a braver soul than I and I can swim. What's next? Sky diving?

Great job kayaking Weas! I absolutely love doing things that scare me, but I'm weird like that. I was talking to a group of friends and I said, "You know how you're doing something and you're thinking 'I could literally die at any moment'? Don't you just love being freaked out like that?!" And it was blank stares all around and they were like, "Uh...no. Not at all." Haha...oh well.

Oh my gosh! We're quoting Airplane?!?

Weasel? "Nervous?"..."Yes."..."First time?"...

Awww. Thanks for bringing a big smile to my day. My sibs only tortured me ~1 billion times with that movie. Good times.

Great job Weasel! And you are right...Airplane is one of the funniest movies ever!

Crazy weekend, so no major cooking for me, but I am making my homemade spaghetti sauce and meatballs tomorrow. After years of looking for just the right meatball recipe, I found one by Fabio Viviani which is the best I have had yet!

Some soft Italian bread will be just right:-)
