Hi Mark. And welcome from a very near neighbour - I'm on the Dorset/Hants border

And you're also my sobriety twin! Except I gave up drinking on 27 Jan 2013, so I am at 17 months today! 27 Jan is obviously a great date to quit!

How are you finding things?
Sorry to hear about the foot, sounds painful. You did the right thing getting everything checked out early. I had a terrible time for months after, tiredness, headaches and a horrible cough I couldn't shift. I started taking vits, drinking more water, no white bread, actually eating meals instead of snacking, quit caffine and getting back to the gym after many, many years. Now, finally I can say I've not felt this good for 20 ish years. I've had a blood pressure check (slighty high but okay) and diabetes yesterday which was fine. Just gotta keep working it, onwards and upwards.
I don't know anything about anxiety so I may show my ignorance. Is it similar to depression i.e. med recovery or therapy lead? Either way, I hope you get it sorted.

Hi Mark! A late 'hello' and welcome here to the forum

Sounds like you have made some really positive changes to your diet and fitness. Well done. How are you getting along...?

Similar. I'm on meds but still waiting for discussion led referral.

Hi Mark,
Welcome to the community and congrats on Your sober time. It's really impressive and keep up the good work. I'm from Poland but I will be moving to England soon. I will reside in Durham, which is near by Newcastle. Hope to hear more from You.

Hi LVT,
Thank you, yes it has been a trying but fruitful time. I feel better, look younger and I am finally seeing some much needed enthusiasm for life return. I have a long history of drink and drug abuse so this is my first time sober since I was 13. I still get urges but equally I can go days without realising I haven't given it a thought. A few months ago I would have said that was impossible.
Thanks again for the welcome, I'm looking forward to getting to know others and their stories
Mark

Hi Six,
Moving country is a very brave thing to do. I hope it goes well and you find us more welcoming than the News likes to portray.

thank you Cowgirlie,
I wouldn't have time to drink if I wanted too, it's insane but in a nice way.
