My first birthday sober in 6 years
Today is my birthday and it is slowly coming to an end. This is my first birthday sober since I started drinking 6 years ago. I'm on day 16(I've had a few day 16s before) I got a tattoo,went to a festival, and went out to dinner. I was telling myself since it's my birthday I should have a beer or two. I know I can't just have a beer or two. I feel like I've grown stronger in these past 16 days. I really don't want to go back to day 1. I can't believe this is my first sober birthday in 6 years. I'm very proud of myself for that, it isn't easy but I have a feeling if I stay sober it will be well worth it.

For me its just about keeping a clear head no matter the situation. I know you want to enjoyh your birthday, but do you really want to go through the regret involved with ending your sobriety?
Personally, Ive come to find that I enjoy being connected to my reality.
Sometimes, things can become stressful but I just keep in mind that stress is normal and to cheapen it with drugs or alcohol would be to rob yourself of a meaningful experience
