Update on Doctor Appointment Today
 

I just got back from the doctor. Actually my blood tests in general were pretty good. I am on medicine for diabetes and my liver function tests were still off. I was honest with her about my drinking and how I got my black eye. She was so helpful and supportive I almost started to cry, telling me how she is the daughter of an alcoholic and well long story short... quitting drinking will probably bring my liver back down to normal and help with the high blood sugar levels as well. So I have many reasons to not drink and no reasons to continue drinking.

I am glad but I still feel like emotional crap. I don't want to go to dinner tonight with my dh and stepson. But I'm sure once I go and stop dwelling on what's happened this week, I'll be fine... good to get my mind on something else and stop dwelling on my problems.

I'm hoping to get home soon enough to make another face to face meeting tonight, otherwise I'm going to a meeting online.

Sounds very positive, Doctors have seen it all before, they can be great sometimes!! :)

I have to get out of my own head as much as possible, too.

Good job on being honest, open and willing!

I know it causes a bit of an emotional upheaval but it still must feel good to get it out in the open, right?

Thank you for the update. I'm so very glad your doc was kind and supportive. Some aren't so much.
