Enough do this madness - 6/25/14
I felt a tremendous weight disappear after my post on here today. These people bought the cabin next to ours. I've known them all of 4 days maybe. I have a huge piehole, got drunk, went over there and told them I am an alcoholic and I have relapsed. I'm sure the smell of the liquor was a clue. I told the lady today in a text I was back on day one (again). They are leaving today (back on Sunday). Before they left, she came over and handed me an envelope with this necklace and note inside.......I love her.

Thank you so much, Lenina, for great info and link for RR. I'm still trying to find out what AVRT stands for specifically, but know its similar to RR.
Lenina, thank you so much for this info. I thinks it's really going to help me!

I am so happy, Pam! I have to say that today is my first day of vacation and I was shopping and ended up in a cute little shop whose wine was on sale 20 off. My AV was playing me hard. I even considered ways that I could sneak some away from my family, but thanks to you and a few others who have come back after slips to remind us that it isn't what we have cracked it up to be, helped me to stay sober and buy sunglasses instead, so thank you! Sending you strength and prayers!
I'm late to the party & all the good stuff's been said. So I'll just give you a hug and say - let's get on with it and do this thing. We're with you Pam - and always will be. Maybe you learned some things you didn't know before, & the relapse will turn out to be valuable.
((((Cleomie)))). AVRT stands for Addictive Voice Recognition Technique. It's a very helpful tool for sobriety. It was an enlightenment for me! suddenly it all made sense. one I was truly able to separate myself from the addiction, I was able to stay sober and happy. on e I recognized that the anxiety I was feeling was really "Beast" activity, I knew I was going to be OK.
I hope this will help you as much as its helped me.
(sorry to hijack thread, Raider. I thought it might be useful for you too)

Raider so glad to read this post. Good on ya for coming back to this side of fence. Lock the gate ,you got the key.
If you knew you were gonna imagine how good you will feel when you know you won't. Know it now , live in the now(it's all we can do) and let all the nows add up, you got this!

Thanks for all the encouraging posts. Went out on the kayaks for about three hours. It was a blast. Came back, had dinner...then the "usual time" came. Ack! Now with the cold sweats. I'm cold, bundle up, sweat and start removing clothes, get cold, sweat. I am confident I can make it through this day. With all your help, of course. Love ya' bunches !!!
((((raider))). It will pass. However, you might want to get checked out physically, just be safe. Are you using any particular recovery method? If you have a spiritual plan, you might enjoy reading any daily meditations or thoughts for the day at this time.
I don't have a traditional path but it helps me to have a set time (as much as I can) time to think about things. (why yes, I am blonde). Reading recovery stories helped me also. I think I needed the structure for the day.
love hugs to you and The Fuzz

You might feel fine for a few days, but use that time to get ready for when your AV starts on you. Have your plan ready.
Raider,
I finally got to a place where it didn't matter the why part. I needed to get into the actions of what I was doing. I needed to find a way to deal with that part first.
you might find AVRT helpful while you figure out the why. for me, it was pretty simple. I am a alcoholic and it's what I like to do. LOL. Boiled down, it was that simple.

Remember the healing power of a shower
For me it got me out of my head and into my body , when your having a srubb racing thoughts kinda recede , also the power of going to bed early with nice fresh sheets , if the pillow gets too hot and sweaty wrap it in a towel …
Remember these feelings are caused by alcohol and not sobriety i think it's important to apportion the blame correctly , m
