16 days sober with a bottle of whisky in my freezer.
It's my roomate's whisky. Well it was. Little does he know I've replaced that bottle 3 times already. I'd drink it at night and then rush to the liquor store and replace it in the morning. 16 days sober and I can't believe I used to do stuff like that! My roomate and I don't talk and we don't get along so telling him to remove it is a social barrier that I'm not willing to cross. Every time I open the freezer (which is pretty rare now because I mostly cook every night with fresh ingredients) I think "you know you could drink that tonight and replace it in the morning...", but then I think "nahhhh..... you don't wanna go back to that life.." I just saw the bottle a few mins ago.... and that happened and let me tell you DAMN does it feel good to be sober!

I used to drink my family's wine and beer I only replaced it a few times even though no one ever cared. The amount of shame and guilt I felt for that was unbelievable though if anyone ever took my alcohol I would have went crazy. It feels good to say no to alcohol doesn't it. Each day sober you become stronger. Congrats on 16 days

I have no idea actually. I'm a beer drinker, I mean I was a beer drinker lol. I don't know what temp you are supposed to drink whisky. It's fireball though so it probably would taste better cold.

I dunno...maybe it's time to cross that bridge.
I'm housesitting for my mom right now and there was a beer in her fridge and two bottles of wine that really didn't concern me. It should have. I relapsed last Friday...there it was nice and handy! Would I have driven to that store and gotten a bottle? Perhaps..but at least there would have been a little pause for thought in between.
I'm just wondering if you could take it out and hide it in his room..in plane sight with a note. It could just be something as short as "dude..having issues and I don't want to steal your booze".
He might not say a word..but he'll likely stash the bottle.
I might be completely off base.
Just a thought.
If you wanna just disregard that...
Please accept my support on 16 fabulous day sober!!! Nice work.

Nah I didn't wanna get into it but I can't do that right now. He's gone on vacation and I have no idea when he's coming back... Id have to throw out the bottle and buy a new one the day he comes back... which is not really reasonable.
Awesome job on the 16 days Serper!
It's just a stupid liquid. It offers absolutely nothing. Let it freeze it's butt off in there. Use it to unclog a drain if the emergency arises. That's all it's good for people like me anyway.
Stick with the fresh vegetables and that reasonable thinking you have going there.
The bottle? You don't want it. You don't need it. I even commend you for not wanting the aggravation of arguing with your roommate.
Great job! Keep it up.

Nice job on 16Days Serper! Keep it up. You may just want to place a skull and cross bones on the freezer door along with some duct tape. Or is that just drawing too much attention? Hmm.
Do you need to borrow my WD40, PK? I can hear your cogs grinding all the way across the Atlantic

Used to do that with an old roommate's beer, back before I switched to liquor. I'd knock back the 6-pack he had in the fridge and then go out and buy another one to replace it. Did that pretty much everyday. As an indication of how bad my drinking got, I'd be pleased as punch if all I wanted everyday was just a 6-pack!
Good job on 16 days!
