Just curious, i had severe shortness of breath towards end of my 'career ' as an alcoholic. Was told by doctors it was minor cardiomyopathy and should stop drinking. Which i did.(12 days now ) seems to be dissipating slowly.

Anyone else have this or similar negative affects from alcohol?

Looking for people with experiences NOT MEDICAL ADVICE ON MY CONDITION.

Can't say that I've ever had that. I hope it gets better for you. How long have you been drinking before you quit?

Since i was 14....heavily since 22, im 33 now.

Went from 40 mg of simvistatin to control my cholesterol to 0 mg. The only dietary change I made was giving up the booze.

7 years on that stuff and no doctor ever recommended not drinking as a way to manage cholesterol.

I had a whole host of physical and mental issues stemming from my drinking, and I can say most improved dramatically after I quit for a while. 12 days is a great start, it may take a bit longer to heal fully.

I had a list of things, shortness of breath was one thing . . . but everything on the list has disappeared due to Sobriety!!
