Its my belly button birthday
Hi, so as I was walking back to my car after my 6 am AA meeting that sneaky little alcoholic voice said ok it's your birthday. When are we having mimosas? And I said to it, no your not in charge anymore. I don't drink. I'm going to meet my mom and dad for breakfast. Thank god.
Yes they are! Happy summer solstice (and winter solstice for my Aussie and NZ friends). I'm 40! YAY! How many times did I think I'd never make it this far, caught up in my addictions. First sober birthday in 22 years!
Wow, 40!!!!!! That's totally brilliant! Happy Birthday indeed
And what a birthday to pick to have sober - you'll be absolutely making sure that 'life begins' anew (mine didn't start till 52!)
And I love your response to AV - you tell him, girl!

Thanks everybody! I did have a great sober birthday, except for one thing. My sweetheart wasn't there with me to celebrate. I did get a huge bouquet of roses and a letter and a phone call. After the phone call I missed him even more!
