Day 4, doing fine

I'm lucky regarding the withdrawal symptoms. The very mild ones I had are fading. I've slept very well and feel well-rested. The only thing that remains is heavy sweating. But that's not really a problem. I just carry a tissue around to wipe it off my face when I'm out in public. And it'll go away soon anyway I expect.

No cravings. The only thing I want is healthy food. I've developed an aversion to everything that's unhealthy. Don't know how that happened. Must be a side-effect of my change in attitude regarding what I put in my body.

Nice job hj003. It is amazing to me how much poison I put into my body and how good it feels that it is getting better. Since I quit drinking I have not been binge eating like I did when I was drunk.

The same is true for me. I would get drunk and order so many pizzas, french fries, hamburgers to the point I felt like I was about to explode. It's much better to have a healthy diet. Without alcohol, I don't feel the need to binge eat.

Fortunately I'm one of those people who can't get overweight. I have a very skinny body type and years of binge drinking and eating only made me weigh a few pounds more than normal. And now, after 4 days, I'm almost back on my ideal weight. I guess I have a fast metabolism or something. Perhaps that's also why I could drink so much. I've looked at the amounts I've drunk and they were usually in the range where people get hospitalized with alcohol poisoning.

Maybe that's also why the withdrawal is going so smoothly.

And the money! It was never an issue, I have plenty, but seeing all of it suddenly saving up is great!

Glad to hear things are going well hj003. Be vigilant, the cravings can come at any time, so just be ready for it. It is pretty amazing what your body can do when you stop abusing it.

Yeah, I'm prepared for the cravings should they come. My intent is strong, so my strategy is simple: not drinking no matter what. I'd rather have the discomfort of the cravings.
