Monster panic attack
Geez, haven't missed them.
Was helping a friend move and in the car I had the sudden feeling that my chest felt wrong and I was probably going to die. Not fun. In a way it was a painful reminder of what I went through almost every day drinking.
Anyone else suffer from panic attacks? They are pretty much the worst thing ever.

Sure are Mr Ben... I'll never forget my first one when I was overtaking a lorry on the M40..... What the hell!!!!!! Managed to get pass & pulled over. Thought I was having a heart attack, fell out the car & stumbled to the emergency phone 7 called an ambulance!! All drink related... As soon as I stop drinking they go a way.. Awful feeling!!
I used to get them towards the end of my drinking too, and also occasionally the first few months of my sober time. I still have anxiety but the acute attacks have drastically decreased in frequency and duration since being sober for a while.

I attempted to get help with my anxiety from the NHS, despite having a meeting where I was told I would be able to get psychological help, 5 months later I was sent a letter asking if I still wanted that help. I told them I did and they said it would be around 3 months due to waiting lists. 6 months later I have still not had a response.
This is due to massive budget cuts in the NHS, particularly regarding mental health. So I'm not really angry at the people who I've been in contact with specifically, they aren't in control of what the government decides to do with its money.
Luckily they are rare for me too now, but back then I really needed that help.
