Today

I missed work this morning because I was hungover from drinking vodka and doing shots of crown. Out of the blue I thought of AA and how it could help me. Drinking is affecting my job, my health, and my life. What is it about today that was significant enough for me to have this thought process. I ask that of myself because this is not the first time I was late to work, nor is it the first time I was hungover and laid in bed for hours. Im thankful for this awakening as I owe it to my family, my co workers and myself.

I'm so glad you joined us and reached out. Welcome to SR ajvrpck.

Sounds like you are ready to reclaim your life. I was in a terrible state when I finally stopped - and it was a relief to be free of it. You can do this - keep posting.

Welcome ajvrpck - I remember making a similar decision a while back, and it was one of the best I've ever made. SR is a great place to find others who understand, and also find ways to reach sobriety. Hope you can stick around and join in!

Welcome! You mention AA. I go and it helps me enormously. If you want to quit, lots of people have been there and done it with AA! Nothing to lose!

Welcome ajvrpck,it's good to recognize this before it gets much worse. And it will if you don't do something about it now.

Good to have you here.
