Day 6 almost over
Day 6 almost over
Hi, hope you are all doing ok. So day six almost over, it's been a good one. My son came home for lunch, brought some wine and I explained where I was re booze. Like my daughter it came as no surprise to him, maybe they have talked. Anyway for him it was no big deal , maybe I was not as good at hiding my problem as I thought.
Slept well last night having stayed up till one in the morning to watch the football.
Checking in each day for me keeps me focused and my feet on the ground, I am so grateful for this place, for the first time in around 30 years I think I have a chance of succeeding in quitting for good.

I found the same reactions with my close family members, there were no real surprises, which made things really easy when having a non alcoholic option.
Great Job on Day 6!! . . . I stayed up for the England game last night too and then went on to most of the Japan game, before calling it a night!!
Keep pushing through!!

Good job Grok! I'm right there with you on Day 5 myself. Your post really made me wonder what some of my family member's response would be when/if I mention that I'm not drinking. No kids or husband, but have siblings that I'm close with and I haven't "come clean" about my drinking situation with them yet.
Sounds like you got a positive response from both your children...that's great!

It was hard to come clean but had I not I would still be drinking. Now these guys are on my side and of course if they see me drinking they will have the right to talk to me about it. I could not do this on my own, which is why I am here today, suddenly I have no problems with saying, I don't drink. Ok so it's only day six, but I have never felt so unconditionally committed to quitting for good.
Thanks
