I have to remind myself hubby is drunk!

I keep getting my feelings hurt by the stupid things he says. He is drunk and won't even remember them. I should be used to it by now, but it really gets to me sometimes. He and I were both active alcoholics when we met and married. I quit drinking, and he has no desire to. His choice. It is just so hard to remember that he is drunk, and not only does not mean but won't even usually remember what he says. I am having a hard time keeping my emotions out of it today. Guess I just needed to sound off a little. Thanks for listening.

This reminds me of the stupid things I used to say, the arguments I'd get into, the fights I would start because I was aggressive . . . alcohol is destructive, people do and say things that they wouldn't if Sober, but deep inside like all of us, he must feel something close to regret, my drinking days were filled with soo much of it!!

Hang in there!! :)

My dh doesn't drink anymore, but when he did that's why I couldn't be around him. To the sober person listening to what nonsense the drunk is having to say,it was unbearable to me. I couldn't ignore it. All it did was make me mad.

Big Hugs to you. I'm sorry you are having to deal with this.
