Nothing has changed REGRET
I have been floating around on here for quite awhile.. Im so disgusted with myself.. I finally got the job i wanted thru a family friend.. But my drinking is gonna to take it from me if i don't make changes.. Iknow what i need to do but can't ever seem to make the right choice.... Im so sad and disgusted with myself.. Any one else would be so happy with new job.. But as usual I'm figuring out a way to ruin it...THIS DISEASE IS BRUTAL
yup, keep posting. you posted now for a reason right? and it sounds like you are fully aware that you are going to self-destruct/sabotage...so awareness is GOOD. It means you have the ability to at least attempt a conscious change of things.
You haven't lost the job...you came and posted.

It is tough to stop drinking, but it can be done, we all had to start at Day 1, just not drink today, just make it to bedtime, but you need the right support to get you through.

By regretting the past and worrying about the future (I'll use I allways do) we lose the present.
Think about something you could substitute for getting loaded something with a quick reward preferably a sport you like.
Physical activity and burning off tension and anxiety has worked well for me in the past.
It's tough getting started but if you make it a routine it has it's own reward in distracting yourself and causes endorphins which can replace your drug of choice.
You never know until you try. Stay focused and treat yourself well.
