Your situation sounds very similar to what happened to me. I'm also preparing and have a better idea what to expect. We can do this together.

So glad you're here. This is a wonderful place with a lot of combined years of experience to draw from!

Hi Rainbow...yes, addiction is a mighty beast and often we need many weapons in our arsenal. I think I made an addiction of trying to understand addiction, human behaviour and a whole lotta reading on the DSM IV behaviours.

Turns out I just can't "think" my way out of it. One of the biggest things I need is support from those who understand. I find a whole lot of that right here on SR. I need people to hear me and respond. I need to hear the stories of other people whose stories are oh so similar to mine. I need reminding that I in fact have a chronic problem with alcohol; one that is best solved by abstinence. I have fallen for the "oh I can have one" or "I'm not really addicted" ...many times.

Glad you're back.

hello everyone. I am gong for an alcohol assessment. I've really crossed a massive hurdle, but don't know if they'll categorise me as high risk. I need them to see how well I've done and need some tips/ advice/ insight into how it works, how it's rated.
please

thanks, rainbow xx
