Climbing the walls

Literally climbing the walls with agitation, anxiety and cravings is day 3 meant to be this bad?

Yep, it can be bad. The good news is you never have to do it again if you don't want to. Can you take a walk or maybe watch a movie?

It's fairly uncomfortable. I told someone, "I'm so raw." The emotions and the physical discomfort were really bad for me for a couple weeks. It gets better soon. Drink some herbal tea, like Tension Tamer or Sleepy Time Plus. Take a nap. Take a walk. Go to a meeting.

Just don't pick up. Keep posting.

I went through the withdrawals completely by myself. You can do it.

Yes, the anxiety used to kill me ,too. I once hid in a closet it was so bad.
It was common on day three for me, too. But it will abate. Just take it easy. Things will get better and remember how you feel now next time you want a drink. You'll never have to go through it again.

Vicky, I am so sorry you are going through this.

I'm on Day two myself and to say the withdrawal is a raw and hellish place to be is an understatement.

I just keep telling myself to get through this so I never have to go through it ever again.

I'm in your corner though, and I'm going through a similar experience.

Ive been on here on an off for the last two days just reading how common what we are experiencing is. I've also been reading what to expect and how to make it through. This doesn't have to last forever....

That has been helping me. You're the first person's post that I've commented on, so I'm sorry that I dont have any advice. Sometimes the realization that youre not alone in this helps though.

It gets better. Trust me! It is beyond worth it to stick it out and resist any temptation. The withdrawals were horrible for me, but I always tell myself if I have the power to make it through them I certainly have the power to not pick up a drink. Good luck! This is definitely a good place.
