Day one again!

The last time I was on this site was last year & I managed nearly a month I think?
Gave up forgot about this great site and steadily started to drink more and more. I'm 49 have drunk since I was 13. I got diabetes when I was 35 due to drinking. I'm sick of it need to stop for my health money and family. I will go for A6 mile run so that my blood sugar will cope with 4 to 6 points of strong beer. Stupid. I'm not a kid anymore and don't want to drop dead of a hearty attack or similar. I don't know what else to say. Let this be the first day sober and stay sober. I'm rambling sorry guys. .. Cheers!

You mentioned you run, have you ever thought about joining a gym? Particularly crossfit? I know, sounds weird, but the crossfit community can be more supportive than your own family members, and even become family. Exercise in general is very helpful, maybe look into yoga even. Taking the step to come back here is already a huge step, grats to you!!

I am new here but I'm going to guess the first step is trying to find something to fill that 'void'. Try to find a hobby you can turn to when you feel you need alcohol.

Thank you for coming back and seeking the help you need, you are cared about!

Welcome back!

Most likely, many of your current health problems will correct themselves or will improve. Not a doctor here but the odds are really on your side if you stop drinking completely.

Never too late to make the change and live a healthy and happy life.

Keep posting friend!

Welcome back mate.
Although this don't have to be a daily struggle, if we take our 'eye off the ball' we are often in trouble fast.
Best wishes and hope that you can beef things up this time.
Nice one

Welcome back Will. A month sober is a good stretch, perhaps build on what you did then and use SR to support that plan?
