How to get into rehab

I think I may need inpatient treatment. I've been forced to rehab in the past, to local facilities that deal with addiction and mental health issues. I have manipulated my way out of these forced programs quickly in the past. How can I get into a program that will be longer term? I can't do this on my own.

Call your insurance company. Or find an inpatient rehab and ask them to call your insurance. My rehab took care of all my insurance for me. Good luck.

I'm not sure of the process for the US, but there are many people on here who will be able to guide you better.
Take care.

Or talk to your dr and get a referral from him/her.

Good idea, get a referral.

The Salvation Army runs free rehab programmes. They're long term tho - 6 months I think.

If you have insurance call the mental health number for a referral and ask them how many days they will pre-approve. After that, once you get in the rehab will usually work to get more days approved. At least that was my experience.

If you don't have insurance there are still places you can call in northern Illinois. Salvation Army, catholic charities.

You said you manipulated your way out of prior rehabs. Is this something you are worried about doing this time? Give it a chance. It was really helpful to me. Good luck.
