Bad dreams

Hi, I had detox 3 weeks ago this coming Monday but lately I've been getting some really upsetting bad dreams I wake up crying for ages,
Can anyone tell me why I'm getting them and how long will they last

It's pretty common to have odd dreams after getting sober. Your mind is adjusting to not being stimulated/sedated all the time. They do definitely become less frequent and less intense...hang in there! And remember they are just dreams...just your mind playing around/blowing off steam!

There's actually a forum here on this site devoted to dreams.

The body is adjusting and healing from years of dealing with toxins, it'll take time but things will get better!! Hang in there!!

It's here:

Insomnia/Nightmares - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

Actually in the mental health forums.
I think it's just there cause there's really no category for dream/nightmares.

I had a dream I was married to Ellie Goulding. I never wanted to wake up.

Oh,it gets better.
Everything gets better once alcohol is out of the picture.

My dreams always involved going to get alcohol and then not going in.
Or being pressured and leaving the situation.
