Struggling on day 12

Just checking in...I'm struggling big time today. I'm really fighting the urge to buy beer. I had a bad day at work and I'm craving a drink badly.

I'm angry that I want to drink, and I'm angry that I can't have one. Ughh. That's the problem. I don't want one I want 8!

Try to distract yourself, go out for a walk or buy a punching bag. ;-)

You can do this!

Think of how much better you'll feel tomorrow if you don't drink tonight.

Funny you mention that. I just removed a punching bag from my basement to get my house ready for sale. I really wouldn't mind wailing on that right about now

Promise yourself that you'll get through today, no matter what, and then you can re-evaluate tomorrow.

Stick with it, and to coin a great phrase 'play the tape to the end'.

You can do it!

The beer is not going to fix anything. Just remember that.

Get through this! Get a few nights like these under your belt and you will learn how to beat them AND teach your brain to not head straight to the booze solution!

Thanks for the support everyone. I got through these cravings like I did last Friday. By keeping busy, and eating a boat load of junk food. Now I feel gross, but at least I didn't drink.

You made it another day! Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do to make it to another day.

There were times early on (I'm at 7 months) when I would just go to bed early to avoid the demons. What a relief it was to pull up the covers and know that I had survived another day.

Keep working. It will get easier.
