Is it normal to feel so scared?

You're making a big change, so I'd say that's understandable. l think you'll find it get's easier and you feel better day by day.

That feeling will pass. Stick around the boards, there are a lot of folks to talk to.

I know the feeling well. Just try to relax and keep yourself busy, post here as much as you need. A nice bath usually helps me relax.

If in doubt see a doctor, it will ease your mind.

Wait until you wake up tomorrow morning and you don't have the alcohol fog. It is a wonderful feeling. There are times I have no idea what to do with myself. I bought a book of word search puzzles and I will do several to calm my mind. Every couple of days I buy myself a present for not drinking. Then everytime I see it I remind myself why I got it. Does not have to be expensive but something that makes you feel like you are celebrating.

I am at day 11 today so I know how you feel. Change is scary but I am finding it is so worth it. I remember the conversations that I have with my kids at night and I am actually present for them instead of drinking and hiding.

Hang in there - you can do it.

Thank you, I went swimming, turns out you can't swim and cry at the same time, trying to
Lose weight too, should I just focus on not drinking? I came off Valium a few months ago but my drinking just went up

Think of things you can do to keep yourself busy. I read a lot, started crocheting and doing a ton of needlework, and going to bed early in the early part of my sobriety. Ice cream....need to have ice cream

I know that feeling alllll too well. I was up to 2L a night my last "binge".
try to not psyche yourself out (man, we are good at that!)
a hot bath seems to work for me...a short walk?

My advice would be to focus on staying sober for a month or two before worrying about weight.

You can do it wino14-I'm 3 weeks AF after innumerable nights drinking an entire bottle of wine and I feel close to normal now. I think anyway! I'm cheering you on xx

I felt that way early on Wino. Emotions ran high and I was a mess for a few days - but everything changed. You're learning to live in a whole new way. Be patient with yourself as you adjust.
