Kicking it Ready!!

I believe that I was powerless over alcohol. However I have found that I do have power over sobriety. That is the flip side of being powerless over alcohol dontcha think? I am under the influence literally with alcohol in my system thus not sober. But I can, when sober, choose never to drink again. Ever. That isn't being powerful over alcohol, I am powerless there. But the point is moot as sober, I have the power to stay sober. AA worked for what I needed up front. Now I just use SR and post and read here.
Read a lot here, more importantly post a lot here. There is usually someone her as some of us live on the other side of the world not only different time zones but a day ahead of us here in the US.
And all here for you, if you want to stay sober stay here and don't just try, do it. One minute, one hour, one day at a time.

Hey there Wino. I just stopped 10 days ago. The first few days/nights were just a vortex of fear and anxiety. Like you, I drank a bottle of wine a night and sometimes whiskey. Like you, I was on the anxiety pills for a while too.
Early days here, obviously, but the fear does diminish some. I still get periods of massive attacks of it (like yesterday) but it does get a little better each day. And as Supersonic said, the mornings sure are better.
