Good Morning All!

Hi all,

I have made it through the weekend sober.

Had to go to a massive leaving do but just drank ginger beer (non-alcoholic) with scotch bonnet peppers and lime in, was really different and if you like spicy / caribbean style food i recommend it.

I was commended by friends throughout the night how happy and sociable I was even though I wasn't drinking, I was feeling sorry for myself for slipping up last week, but even though I had that slip all is not lost.

I am still 100x more confident than when I first started all this.

One thing I have learnt is not to neglect your support network and to reach out if you feel you need to talk to someone, as it could make all that difference and mean you don't take that first sip!

Hope you have a great day people!

Tom

Hi Tom!

Isn't it amazing how many nonalcoholic drinks there are out there? I found a store near me that sells nothing but root beer and other sodas. There are hundreds of craft brewed root beers and ginger beers as well as other speciality sodas there! Not to mention all the cool sodas I find at the store. Fentimans Curiosity Cola is a favorite of mine and my husband.

Nicely done!

I agree with the beverage replacement. I also had a beer in one hand so I find that always having something fun to drink helps me.
I drink water but only for hydration purposes. I just too boring of a drink for me. LOL!

Well done YoungTom! You can be charming without the alcohol.
I didn't think I could either, but it's amazing how much better conversations can be, isn't it?

Okay DG, I'm biting here--what on earth is

"Fentiman's Curiosity Cola" and how does it taste?

Hi Tom, it does feel fantastic when you can be around alcohol and not be tempted, you are doing extremely well Tom.
Congratulations.

Fentimans Curiosity Cola contains 0.5% alcohol. I know that's barely anything but I won't touch it for that reason.
