39 hrs and the emotional roller coaster has arrived

Whelp, I have made it 39 hrs, I have drank a ton of juice, had a salad for lunch but now I am on the roller coaster of emotion. I want to cry I want to scream, just very difficult. Sorry just needed to get that out, thanks!

Hi Speedy,

Are you detoxing from alcohol or drugs? Hang in there and just keep focusing on the minutes and hours. Keep posting.

Cry and scream then.
It works and releases tension.

Speedy,

Don't go to the store. As Dan said keep posting. I posted every hour until I got my first day behind me, and I am just winding down day 5. It does get better, promise you, I can attest to that.

Know we are all out here to support you.

Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers,

Triegger

Hi Speedy,

I found Vitimin B tablets worked miracles on the depression I had in bouts. Triegger is telling you the truth - IT WILL GO AWAY. It'd be a shame to go through all that and then have a drink.

Keep at it, you're doing good

Thanks for all the advice, yes I have attended many AA meetings, this is my second time going through this, I think that’s why I am depressed because I failed, but I will stop at GNC on my way home and pick up some B-12. I also am on Zoloft but not sure if it is working.

You did not fail, you are alive to try recovery again. Scream, cry, whatever you need to do to get through the day, the hour, the minute, just dont' drink.

we are all here doing the same thing as you, staying sober just one day at a time.

Wow! Big red flag here Speedy. I was on Zoloft for about a year.
That is one heavy duty anti depressant. It actually made me feel more depressed before it started helping. My doctor had advised me that this could happen.
How long have you been on it, and surely you know that alcohol and anti depressants do not mix well.
Keep posting.

I have been off and on it for about 1 year. I was told that the Zoloft was a waste if I drank thats all I know about that.

Hi Speedy and welcome

Anti-depressants and alcohol do not mix well at all.

Recovery is a slow process, especially if is something you have been abusing for a long time.

It is great that you came here and are getting right back in the saddle.
You will find all kinds of support here.
By the way I am sober (today) and the zoloft is working very nicely for me.

Hi Speedy...so happy you've found Sober Recovery.

I'm sorry you're having a bad time of things. I have to tell you though, you didn't fail, it's this lovely disease we've been graced with that does that to us, keeps pulling us in, as hard as we try to stop. BUT we will get it Speedy, we will be ok, we keep fighting with everything we have, and we'll have the freedom like the one's who've already got it and help guide us through this.

I hope you're ok today, don't ever stop this fight, all of us are right behind you pushing you, we all more then understand.

I'm wishing you all the best on your journey to sobriety....mmm mmm mmm the FREEDOM of it.

Love and hugs ......Denise <---an alkie learning her way.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Don't ever give up, miracles Do happen when we are ready to invite them into our lives. When I was ready to do the work...the rewards started to be visible, there was a song in my heart instead of a screaming soul begging to be released from it's seemingly endless hell. It DOES get better. Take it one small step at atime. keep reaching out for help. We all care. (((Hugs)))
