Experience with NA meetings?

As most of you know I'm an alcoholic, a little over 2 weeks sober now. I was put in touch with someone involved with NA by a family friend who thought we'd click. And we did over the phone....she is a recovering addict and alcoholic, alcohol having been her biggest struggle and hurdle to overcome.

So I'm going to my first NA meeting this Friday in her group. I'm nervous... Is anyone on here in NA? Positive reviews? has it helped?

No I did not find them helpful and I prefer more mature Chairperson.

I find NA meetings to be helpful to my sobriety.

Addicts are often closer to jails, institutions, and death then alcoholics, so there can be a "scared straight" quality to NA meetings. Also, the literature is updated and in a very neutral voice.

Thanks for the input...regardless I'm going to go...it's only an hour of my day. SR has been a life saver and I will continue to be active here but I feel I also need to find a group I can click with face to face, whether it be AA, NA or whatever else is out there.

I'm in NA and I like it very much. Every group is a little different so I would suggest visiting more than one. I know a lot of NA folks whose addiction is alcohol.
