First night sober
 

Gonna be a long night, no more drugs. Nothing up numb and calm the brain and go to sleep. No pills, pot, cocaine, needles-Nothing.

In for the long haul after 3 years of addiction.

Welcome, it can be very rough the first few days, but you're in the right place.

Thank you all for the support. It was a very rough night. I did a lot of writing. Went for a run. Did some crying and yelling. It was painful. But I kept telling myself that I felt like I deserved to go through that. It was kind of like a payment for some of the things I have done because of drugs.

We often feel like we deserve to be punished, and I know I have, but we also deserve the chance to recover and lead full lives. Hang in there, in a day or two your body will start feeling good again.

Cgs - what matters most is what happens from here on. No point in rehashing the past, except to vow that you'll never go back to that miserable life. I'm so glad you've made this decision and are heading towards a life of hope and happiness.
