Went out!!!
Best thing to do is get back up on your feet, learn from your mistakes, and work out what you need to add to what you've been doing.
Feel free to talk that out here - you'll get a lot of input and help. Skotyb

24 gifted days of sobriety probably have a more brilliant golden shine than ever right now.
Remember how much better those days felt?
Right?
Well guess what?
Good news.....
You can feel and cherish that goodness every single day for the rest of your life!
Starting right now.
BAM!!!!!

Hi Skoty,
I was reading one of your earlier posts. At 7 days you had been to your first AA meeting and you were feeling good about things. I'm thinking though, you possibly got some bum advice.
They told you to do 90 in 90 and you would be in a good position to start the steps. I never found that I could get past about 21 days on that basis.
On the other hand when I took 90 in 90 to mean total immersion in every aspect of AA, and I began the steps, by the time the 90 was up I was well on with step 9 and my life had changed completely. I have never needed to drink since. The only way I ever got to 90 was by taking the steps with a Good sponsor.
We take the steps to recover, not the other way around.

Skotyb.. most people dont get it right the first time, or even the first couple times. You slipped, but that doesn't mean you have to keep falling. Pick yourself up, try to learn from it, and get back on the path you know you want to be on. No one judges you, so dont judge yourself too harshly. Welcome back.
No comments were erased that I can see Skotyb
I don't feel let down - I'm glad you're back.
You didn't lose those 24 days - everything you learned and accomplished is still there. You just have to work out whats missing for you to have permanent recovery.
any ideas?

Yea sometimes it takes a few times, I know Ive screwed up after 2-1/2 years sober.
It's not forgotten though, I use that experience today. It took me a year to get back on track, please dont waste that much time.
After a few years countin days isnt so important anyway, and I know you can do this.

Hi Skotyb.
Are you going to drink today? If the answer is no then you are back on track. Good luck with that.
Your 24 days are only lost if you don't learn from them. I had 2 and half years then I greeted my old friend wine like an old sweetheart. I threw myself deliberately back into that nightmare with a big smile on my face. I learned from that and I am stronger. I have a vision in my head of where I am going.
What is your vision of a bright future? How are you going to get there? What changes are you going to make? I want to know because you might help me and you might help all these other people too.

Hey Skotyb,
You did not lose all that good stuff above You are here now. Keep going buddy. No sorries necessary. We are here on this journey together, eh? Put your head in the present tense and move forward. Suit up. You're on!
