List of Famous People Who Don't Drink
List of Famous People Who Don't Drink
I thought this might be a little bit of a fun thread. I did a bit of research and found a list of celebrities who do not drink alcohol. My two personal favourite musicians - Steve Earle and Bruce Springsteen - both do not drink or do drugs. Steve Earle is a former addict, and Bruce was never really into it ever. I think it's becoming a "cool" thing to be sober. Who knew... I'm "cool". Haha
Bradley Cooper - "If I continued drinking, I was going to sabotoge my whole life."
Russell Brand - "Anyone can get clean, one day at a time."
Edie Falco
Kim Kardashian
Christina Ricci - "I made a chocie, because drinking wasn't a good addition to my life."
Matthew Perry - hasn't had a drink since rehab in the late 1990s
Eminem
Jennifer Lopez - believes drinking ruins your skin
Ewan McGregor
Colin Farrell - "Seven years sober, I'm really grateful, it's great to be present in my life."
Keith Urban
Jada Pinkett Smith - found herself drinking two bottles of wine a night and then quit cold turkey
Gerard Butler - quit drinking 15 years ago and recently went through rehab for prescription pain medication
Tyra Banks
Tobey MacGuire
Rob Lowe
Eva Mendes
Kat Von D "Six years of sobriety today! Hooray for not being a drunken *******!"
Robert Downey Junior - "I think of myself as someone who has no desire, use for, or conscious memory of that life."
Tim MacGraw - gave up drinking for his daughters. "When it gets to a point where it affects your relationships, it's time to make a change."
Ben Affleck - His rehab stint in 2001 helped him change his life for the better. Affleck says his rehab stint in 2001 helped him change his life for the better. "Simple as this, I quit drinking. It’s really not that big a deal. It has no real bearing on anything else in my life," he explained to The Mirror. "Your lifestyle changes at a certain age. Like me, a lot of my friends are married with kids. When you are in your 20s and you’re not married with kids, you’re having fun. But when you’re in your 30s and you’re not married and don’t have kids, you begin to develop a Peter Pan complex. As you grow older, you have more responsibilities and you have to step up to them."

I'm not sure this list is accurate - Springsteen for example, in an article earlier this year with The Telegraph, stated he has 'the occasional whiskey' but never did drugs.
But the bottom line is that it's nice to see examples of people living revered lives and people in places we normally think of as 'successful' who have chosen sobriety and are still - whoa... SUCCESSFUL.
I know that for me, it can sometimes feel like not drinking will make me lesser and looked down on and seen as someone not to be looked up to. That's not at all true, and it's cool to see people acknowledge that in a society that so glamorizes booze.
The Tom Waits article and so many like it from musicians in particular are inspiring to me.

Great post, thanks!
Thanks, also, FreeOwl, for the Tom Waits link.
Tom Waits is cool! Has anyone ever seen Tom Waits and Iggy Pop (also sober) in their scene from "Coffee and Cigarettes"? Very funny. I'd post the link, but it might bother some who may be quitting cigarettes.

Also, Demi Lovato has a little over two years of sobriety.
