Hi Guys. Day 3.

I was looking thru my old posts and saw a few today on my Day 3 that got me feelin like damm I was doing well. I've tried so many times. I plan on rereading my RR book. and REALLY gonna try to stay active on here. cuz nothing is going right in my life. Alcohol def hasn't contributed ANYTHING positive.. nor will it ever. :a043:

Welcome back CuteNGayYay :)

I think it's really important to consciously keep working on staying sober for a while - at least until it becomes automatic...

Glad you made it back :)

Hi cutengay,

You are definitely correct in that alcohol does not have anything to offer. Even if I try and trick myself with exceptions to the rule...well, no, there are no exceptions to the rule.

Welcome back. No matter if you are starting again with sobriety today or are continuing...stay strong.

Great work. I'm on day 7. Days 2 and 3 were REALLY tough. This forum really helped me through a few dicey days.

Keep going! You have my support! Along with many others here.

You have lots of support here. Take advantage of it to get you through!

I remember your posts from last year when I first joined. Sorry to hear you have struggled a bit. :(

Whatever you are doing different this time to stay stopped, stick at it. What a great life you have ahead of you if you pick yourself up, give yourself a big hug and really believe you deserve so much more than the terrible way alcohol makes you feel.

Congrats on day 3.

Be well.xx

You can do this!

Just keep moving forwards, one breath at a time...

Rar 05-21-2014 08:46 PM

I'm glad you're back Cute. Hang in there. You can do this. :)

Hey there pot, this is kettle... with even less long term sobriety than you've had in the past, but I have to ask, what are you going to do differently this time?

I ask, because even though I am straight, I am in a field with lots of gblt, and I know that there can be a "scene" of partying and clubbing (not any different than straight bar-hopping, really), and as a good friend who is also recovering and a counselor told me, most alcoholics tend to hang out with alcoholics. And I find this to be true, whether it be in suburbia or wherever. Have you sought out sober friends or just those who are over the scene? My apologies if Im generalizing wrt your social life, but I'm also new at this and these are the kinds of factors that can lead to relapse.
