AV IS WINNING RIGHT NOW!! a little help!!
17 days in
It's been awesome
sun is shinning, stressful day
And I almost feel now that I don't deserve
To be this happy and a cold something would
Put me back in my place of not being sober and unhappy!!
Struggling a bit right this second!!
Driving home from work hoping not to turn that corner
Thanks for listening

AV Intervention...
Drive to a place that does not sell alcohol and buy a really cold super special fizzy water...get a lot of them!!
DO NOT BUY ALCOHOL!!!
YOU DO NOT WANT JUST 1 or 2, a SIP. YOU DO NOT WANT ANY alcohol.

Please don't.. You'll regret it soo much. I agree with leTheverte. Go somewhere that doesn't sell alcohol and buy yourself a treat. I recently discovered how yummy coconut water is and fresh squeezed watermelon juice is awesome. I also love a cold ginger ale for something fizzy

Everyone deserves happiness skotyb
I know it feels strange and unusual right now but it will get better.
My advice? Don't fight the AV.
Get out of the ring. There's nothing that needs to be discussed or argued here.
Being sober *is* the way forward for you, and you *do* deserve all the things that recovery brings.

My AV rears it's ugly head on my drive home from work also. I put down a ton of chocolate ice cream as soon as I got home. The healthiest option? Probably not. But a lot healthier than drinking. Keep fighting!
SkotyB! Great advice here!
Just one more thing...go and buy a case of La Croix coconut fizzy water! They sell it at Whole Foods!! Then come back and tell us what you think
Ruby2 and Hawk both say that it's tasty. If you like it then yours will be the third positive opinion I will have read...just enough for me to get past my stinginess and buy my own case of coconut fizzy water.
If you are home. Fight the AV. You can do it. You need to do it.
I'm still going to buy a case of that fizzy water. If I don't like it, then I will have a mystery fizzy water tasting party for select friends...win-win situation anyway.

Dont! U will only have regret and shame plus be back to day 1 tmrw. I got some cool to go cups for coffee but i put my tension tamer tea in them. Its something i do that i feel like 'treats' me. I carry it around the house with me if im cleaning or just curl up on the couch with a good movie.

You guys frickin rock!!!
I didn't eat really anything and no water throughout day
And I guess the hungry dehydrated me was feeling alittle down
And my old adage was to go get hydrated in the pub!!
Skotyb and SR ( u peeps 1 vs AV 0
Thanks to all the replies
I'll try the fizzy coconut water , but most importantly I have to eat properly throughout the day, and stay hydrated ... As it seems to play on my emotions more than I gave it credit for!!! Well at least we figured that AV battle out ... Now
I have the tools to kick its ass if it rears it ugly little head again in this kinda situation!!!!
Thanks guys and girls
From the bottom of my heart!!
That was awesome!!!!
<3
Day 18 I'm coming for u!!
And by the way I have an army of support
And you have nothing that can stop us!

Skotyb,
I believe the AA term is HALT (Hungry, angry, thirsty, lonely) each being a common emotional or physical experience that leaves someone vulnerable to the AV or relapse. You can't control emotions so easily all the time but you can at least ensure that you're not hungry or thirsty throughout the day. Stock up on some yummy healthy goodies to eat and drink. And do try that coconut water
