Alive and mostly well

Hello everyone, just thought I'd check in and update you all. I'm 30 days sober today! Seems like such a small number in the grand scheme of things, but it's a nice number none the less. Things are as they say, not all rainbows and butterflies, but at least I'm able to deal with issues hangover free! Life keeps on moving and you still have to deal with it! :-) I've had days of thoughts of drinking, quite a few drinking dreams and some issues with jealousy over people who are able to drink in moderation. All to be expected according to my councilor (who is moving, so I have to find a new one, but that's a different issue!). So, here's to the next 30 days! I've been making an effort to stay off my phone/ computer since I'd become almost addicted to technology, but I check in on the threads occasionally to see how everyone is doing! I really love being sober, there are just moments where it's all to easy to forget that, and coming and reading here definitely helps! Have a great day everyone!

Congrats!!!
I will be at 30 days tomorrow, it feels fabulous doesn't it! I agree not all butterflies and rainbows, but sober is so much better than drunk or hungover!

You sound quite content with sober life generally which is a great platform to build on.
Well done on 30 days.

Congrats on 30 days Pinot! If reading and writing here helps you, why not do it a little more often? We don't bite you know!

Congratulations on 30 days! You are on your way!

I don't think there's anything wrong with staying around SR, it helps me immensely.

Congrats on 30 days! I too for the first time in my 16 days of sobriety had a drinking dream. It was a rum and coke and I remember it was so strong it burned my throat and I immediately felt terrible for taking the first sip. I woke up thinking thank God it was just a dream. I just don't want that life anymore.

We all nip at this thing day by day, bit by bit. Can't wait till I hit the 30 day mark. Your doing a great job so just keep going!

Great to hear from you PNM. I am glad to hear that you are well. I understand the need to stay off the web from time to time but, if you are willing and able to post in the future, it would be great to hear more from you. I miss your posts.

Best of luck to you. Welcome back.

Thank you everyone! It does feel good to be clear headed! I will try and post more, especially on days like today, which turned into a pretty crummy one after posting this morning. Reading all your replies definitely lifted my spirits! I need a big glass of ice water (with mint from a herb garden I recently planted) and I should be ok! :-)
