Do not worry you are going to be supervised
You are going to be ok...!
Just get through it... and next time you are having thoughts to drink/Use
Remember what you go through...
You need it so you get clean so you can think clearly,...
you can not think clearly now but you will soon!
Hope is not too harsh the withdraw!

My detox experience...was we'll eye opening. Couldn't sleep...didn't really know what time it was...really difficult to focus. Lasted for the first 2 days...then felt somewhat better. Know that they are helping you...when I was there I had anxiety like they were looking down on me....think it was just me coming back to earth.
Rehab on the other hand was really amazing. Not going to lie to you I was freaking out before walking through the doors...and first day or two were fuzzy at best.
But the group I was with...guess what they're normal people just like you! Just take the opportunity to LEARN everything they tell you while you are there.
Don't be afraid. Perfectly natural to freak out...I did...but take the experience for what it is..it'll help you now...and in the future...I've slipped up in the last couple of months but am going back to my notes and old approaches that I learned from rehab. Back on day five for me...be calm and learn.
We are all here to help each other. You have my support.
Good luck to you my friend.

I'd be scared too but I think this is great. Not everyone gets this opportunity, embrace it. You can do it and it will help you find that inner strength thats always been there. Looking forward to hearing about how it went.
Good choice and a gift. I did detox and rehab and it was a very positive experience. I learned a lot and it is the beginning of a journey for you.
Bring printed pictures of your family with you. I had photos of my children with me. We couldn't have cellphones or any electronics with us so that's why I say printed copies.
Bring warm socks and comfortable pants and shoes that you won't mind wearing every day. Mine got a little uncomfortable at the end. If they have vending machines bring plenty of change or small bills but not too much. If you smoke and they allow smoking find out if you can bring a carton of cigarettes. Bring pens to write with and a notebook. Journaling helps or write notes to yourself or your family about what you are thinking.

Detox for me, was an amazing gift. The medical supervision which allowed a (in my case) comfortable withdrawal, paired with the support you'll find from others going through the same thing as you are, makes for a very rewarding experience. I hated leaving my family for a few days to detox, and used that as my excuse, but if I didn't go through a supervised and safe detox, there might have been a chance I'd have been gone forever. I disliked only being able to call my girlfriend at restricted times, but if I kept drinking and didn't detox, I wouldn't have a girlfriend to call.

My detox didn't allow anyone to bring books, newspapers, cellphones, cosmetics, or even street clothes. It was straight to the hospital johnnies and slipper socks. I will say, however, that everyone there was nice, kind, and helpful.
