Need Support
I've very recently stopped drinking. I was tired of waking up embarrassed and embarrassing those around me. I'm looking for a support system and I'm hoping this is a good place to start. My name is Alli, it's nice to meet you all.

Hey Alli good to meet you! I know those feelings all too well, and know how crippling they are. But just know that if you never pick up that first drink again, that feeling will never return. That's what I hold onto. I'm only coming into day three myself so I am willing to lend my support and share in support. Good for you on making this decision!

When I first came here I was amazed at how many others felt just like me. It's scary to begin a new way of life - but not feeling alone really helps. I was like you - tired of feeling embarrassed and humiliated by my behavior. It feels so good to be free of it.

Day 6 here and yes those feelings never have to happen again! I used to have such bad hangovers i thought i would die literally....couldn't breath, shakey and feeling guilty. But i too hold onto the fact i dont have to feel that way...its uo to me and i choose sobriety...welcome!
