I had two nights in a hotel room a few months into my sobriety. I was dreading it for very similar reasons but was extremely pleasantly surprised by how much I loved have a sober business trip. I was rested and refreshed, I enjoyed the time I had to myself, I ordered room service, I took myself out to coffee, I just had a lovely few days with my own companionship. Just sharing to give you a different perspective of how could go, and I hope your few days go well.

Ahh how wonderful to have a hotel room of ones own ,

Sit in the tub until your skin goes like a prune , watch all those programs i don't like other people catching me watching , martell , jerry springer , oprah .

Read some books , either online from project gutenberg or real ones .

Have a wander round the local mall and see how different and the same it is .

Try and find somewhere that sells good coffee .. maybe even tea …

Have a good e-bay look through ( i now have 3 tidal clock mechanisms)

Learn Chinese or russian syllables online .

Phone the family , write them all a lovely letter for them to find or receive one day ..

Bestwishes, m

This is one of the reasons I took up running - a stay in a different city for a few days would be a great opportunity to go out for a leisurely two hour run and see the sights, then grab a quick shower at the hotel room before dinner, and then maybe soak in the tub or watch a movie, crash out and wake up bright and early to someone else preparing breakfast (even if it's only a roll and some cereal, hey I didn't cook it)

Summer movies are coming out now, could always catch a flick at the theater if there's one around the hotel.
