Finishing others drinks

I noticed something that the guy who is struggling with alcohol abuse that Ive been hanging out with does and that's finish my drink. And I don't even mean alcoholic drink just regular water. When he was over at my place we both had a bottle of water. He finished his and later grabbed my water and proceeded to chug it. I thought he had mistaken my water for his but he didnt. He could have just asked me for another bottle of water. He did the same thing at his house. Drank his glass of water but I only drank half of mine. Hours went by of mine sitting there and he ended up drinking it. Is this something alcoholics do? The need to finish every drink as the would if it were alcohol? Maybe I'm reading too much into this.

I think you are. If he has a problem with alcohol he will need to come to terms with it and address it on his own. Finishing drinks could be a red flag to signal a drinking problem, but you already know he has one.

I know people who are not alcoholics who do this. Very annoying.

Maybe you could just tell him to cut it out.

does he finish what you don't eat from your plate too?

Don't drink my drink and don't eat off my plate. It irritates me.....
