Writing as a form of therapy

Well, Deeker asked me to write something for the 24 hour club. So I got my laptop, and once I started typing, I just couldn't stop. She had to ask me to shorten it

But I began re-reading some of my old threads (no, don't look them up!)

And I found my old diaries in the attic...I got all weepy at how silly I sound.

I have a degree in English, I used to write A LOT but I stopped. Actually, I used to want to write a book someday and now I will start writing again.

So do any of you keep a journal?

Actually My counselor recommends writing as therapy. Says it helps you release.

I used to journal but I was paranoid someone would find them so I burned all but one, because it was an expensive journal and it's very pretty, lol. Journaling got to be a chore after awhile, too. I have a notebook for my 12 steps and I keep it on my person all the time. I do write some poetry though that I keep in a flap under a cover of my big book.

I journal a lot. The thearpist I used to see recommend it even though I started journaling awhile before I started seeing her. I also get paranoid thinking someone will find what I wrote so I usually end up ripping the pages up and throwing them out lol.

Writing seems to be a lost art. Computers seem to have relegated deep immersive prose to the waste bin. Maybe I'm just jaded because I work in the technology industry where verbosity is frowned upon. I deeply respect people who can write.
