Just got back from a very long walk. Drove up to the hills near us and just walked around talking about other things! Lovely.
Putting TV on and probably bed soon.
Day three here I come!!!

Congrats! Have a cup of black tea and keep drinking lots of water. Vitamins are also important. I found that headaches are common for me the first few days especially in the mornings. It's almost as if I trained my body to think mornings = hangover.
Lean on your hubby for support and stay close to SR. Keep busy doing things you enjoy that you couldn't do while drinking.

Day 2 @5:20pm.
Not craving but have a headache. I've had voices all day in my head thinking about alcohol (posted earlier). Can't help but think a glass of wine would get rid of the headache.
I don't want to take a diazepam as they can be addictive and I took two yesterday at various points.
Not feeling strong at the moment and imagine by seven it will be worse.
For goodness sake. I've not even gone 48 hours since having a drink and am thinking like this. Hate hate hate this addiction.

48 hours in is when I usually start wanting it again. But its a good time of reflection to remember how bad you were while drinking all the time. That is the biggest motivator to me.

Haha. Yes. Alcohol has a lot of calories and on top of that it keeps your body from absorbing nutrition from any food that you do eat while drinking. I'm in the same boat as you now. I ate so much yesterday I felt like jabba the hut. I did get a prescription for all the b vitamins the other day from my doctor and since I've been taking them my cravings are starting to subside a little. Your body craves nutrition so eat what you want in these first crucial days and weeks. Once I get the go ahead from my doctor i'm going to start some kind of exercise program.
It's great that you have an appetite after coming back from an episode. It's a good chance to fill your body up with healthy foods to bounce back! Sobriety for me creates sugar cravings (peanut butter snickers) but it beats alcohol!
I love your optimism and it's giving me strength today--keep up the good work!
