If you're an alcoholic and really want to stop there are certain steps we who are sober for awhile needed to take. I needed to be honest with MYSELF about MY drinking. I needed to accept the fact that I cannot drink in safety and it's the first drink that leads me back to misery. There are a few, including this site, that offer support but none that can get us sober except ourselves. Some of us need detox and rehab, I used AA which has worked for about 80 years. Today we have choices to not be miserable any longer.

Hello
I came to this site yesterday (had previously joined but then figured I was fine) and it's been a great support getting through day one/half way through day two. It's the right place to be for people with addiction problems!

Because i dont feel strong enouf atm. Next friday ill go to mosque, ill pray and forgive. This one will be my last stand. I will give up alcohol i belive my own character. I dint anything bad in my life, i did lot of heroic moves. But this one, fight vs my own. I promissed to my family and gf already. I cant retreat.
Well, I'm glad your girlfriend and family know about this.. This forum is a wonderful place to get support. But if you're not ready now there is nothing anyone can say or do to change that. I say you are strong enough, you have to want sobriety more than the drink. And how about promising to do this for yourself as well as your family and gf.
