Everything all at once?

Anyone else notice that when one is struggling all the bad things that can happen suddenly happen all at once? Or does it just seem that way??

This is not going to break me and this is not going to give my brain it's excuse.

I think it just seems that way - bad things happen both when we are drinking and when we are sober. The difference is how we deal with it ( Run away and drink or deal with it upfront ).

Dealing with it is tough...but you can ( and are ) doing it. Make sure you are getting enough to eat, sleep and take a deep breath to relax now and then. You can do this!

Exactly Scott. You become more aware
and responsible when you come in out
of the haze. Barking dogs and crying kids
drove me up the wall, but I would
neglect my bills and didn't care
about anything other than that
can of Miller.

Life is tough, it's tough when drinking too just that you can't remember as much of it.
Life is a lot clearer when not looked at through the bottom of a glass.

Sometimes it seems like that. I'd rather deal with the bad things sober, tho.

It seemed that way to me too Kallistia but honestly I think my life was always like that - lurching from crisis to crisis...I just drank through it all before?

I am in that place right now, and I am a bit 'new agey', I think there is a domino effect to life and like attracts like. It also happens to me when things are going GREAT; my phone is ringing off the hook and getting all the green lights, etc.

Yes, absolutely! I'm a month sober and trying to sort my life out is stressful. I am looking for a job and dealing with the consequences of the addiction is really hard.

Others have pretty said the same... I know that these feelings don't disappear over night. I'm approaching 5 months and all those bad things that showed up were always there. I neglected them for a long time. So I have no intention of correcting them all at once. I had to prioritize them, put them in the queue and address them as I became able. Still working on it.
