finally back
I first got sober at the age of 24 back in 1982 in 1992 I relapsed and have been struggling ever since..the last three years I been drinking or drugging everyday and I am so tired of my life being unmanageable.I am going back to AA/NA tonight so if U read this please say a word to your higher power to give me the strength to follow thru..I miss being sober and being around caring productive people thank you
Welcome Tom, glad you are here. We are about the same age. I didn't take ten years off like you did. I think I started drinking professionally around 1975. I did stop for a year in 2001 just to prove I could do it. Now, 13 years later I am proving it again. This time it's for good. I hope you will continue to make the journey with me.
Welcome to SR Tom (You're not far from me ).
I was older when I finally quit for good. I had played with it for decades, always trying to control it. It was much easier to stop than to continue the way I was. It was exhausting to be so dependent on it - & it was no longer fun or enjoyable in any way. Time to kick it to the curb and begin your new life. You don't need it.
