Blackouts

Now that my wife and I are on better
terms, we are now talking to each
other in way that partners should.

Apparently toward the end of my drinking
I had days that I would, walk, talk and
function. I have absolutely no recollection
of this what-so-ever.

That is Damn, Damn scary!

I'm glad your communication is opening up. Yes, blackouts are scary. If you never drink again you won't have them.

I had blackouts sometimes too at the end of my drinking days and it still scares me so much when I think of it.

I've come out of black outs in some pretty strange places without knowing how I got there or what I had done.
Scary, and a sign of a real drinking problem. Oh, the horror stories I could tell.
Glad you and your wife are on better terms.
Don't pick up that first drink and you'll never have another black out, this I can guarantee you.

I get black outs- but they have nothing to do with my pill use.

Very little to do with it. I talked to my dr about it and my psychiatrist. They were baffled.

best I can tell is it is a spinal cord injury.

WOW!
It sounds like they are pretty common.
Thank God I didn't drive, that I am
aware of.

I too unfortunately had blackouts. My last binge proved it again to me. Didn't drive in a black out (yet) said way too many things and acted in ways I would never act if sober.

The worst feeling in the world for me is to wake up wondering about the night before......

And if I don't pick up that first drink, I don't have to worry about it.

I have another drunk in me, just not sure about another recovery.
