Wee Oscar!!
Wee Oscar!!
This morning our hockey club learned of the sad loss of a valued member.
He wasn’t an alcoholic, he wasn’t in recovery, he was just 5 yrs old, a young boy and after fighting a long and brave battle against Neuroblastoma, he died yesterday.
5 yrs old? . . . It puts things into perspective, he didn’t get a chance to have a life, but he enjoyed every minute he had, he attended games, supported the team he loved, he gave life his all, but unfortunately as some have said, God wanted him to be with him!!
What can we learn? As alcoholics, things like this give some perspective, a 5 yr old boy didn’t have a chance, he had no choice, but we do, and so what are we going to do with that choice? . . . Are we gonna die in a bottle, waste away the life we had, or appreciate what we have?
He was known as “Wee Oscar” and he lived life to the end!! RIP!!

Sorry for the loss purpleknight. As I was unfamiliar, I looked it up and this was the third link on the search.
My heart goes out to all.
