probation over
hi all 
today i went to court it was the end of my five year probation for a dui. i really feel like drinking to celebrate, like i am somehow relieved of my alcoholic burden. god i need a drink. but i wont. i wont pick up.

Great Job getting rid of that burden Adore , but remember where it came from! I have just started that last month for 3 years, have an ankle bracelet on for another month and have more money to spend on my DWI, it is not worth it ! Keep up the good work! Stay Strong and Well ! Bobby

It's great to have that burden lifted. I try not to let my emotions get too high or too low cuz that's when I want to drink the most. Easier said than done but I imagine you were feeling pretty low when you got the DUI, you never have to feel that way again if you don't pick up. Stay the course.

Personally, I think it speaks volumes that you have been on probation for 5 years due to your drinking and now you want to celebrate with a drink. I suggest you continue to work on the ways to celebrate your success without drinking. For many of us, getting sober was via the legal system. It is a good "excuse" as to why we can't do certain things as we can blame it on the probation officer. Do be careful with yourself. This is wonderful to not have to be on probation; go with caution though for the next little while.

I drank in short time
yes before long I was back on probation
plus
no license and some jail time
It just don't get better
if
one is alcoholic ?????
