Sober Day 3

Hello I'm Chris. I'm on sober day 3. I feel good and haven't had any cravings. Doing something good for myself and rebuilding my family trust are my motivators

I will be attending an AA meeting this Sunday. Do you find it helps to have individual counselling as well?

I've never had counseling, but it couldn't hurt. After my last relapse, I decided to go "all in" for sobriety. AA, Dr's office visits, nutritionist, spiritual angle, etc. I never added a counselor to that list but probably should have.

I saw a CBT counselor for about 6 months and I think it helped. I specifically wanted a non-addiction counselor because I wanted help with my sober brain. I also think the collective input from this forum is likely more than any individual addictions counselor could hold in one head. :)

Your mileage may vary, but that was how I did it.

Best of Luck on Your Journey! :ring
