A very nervous newcomer
Hi, this is my first post, I have only been sober about 48 hours, I have tried before with AA, but it wasn't for me. I'm trying again because I feel my life is spirilling out of control. I am putting off important business, not doing my housework (mentally and phsically) and find I'm not interested in doing anything at all. I hope I get some inspiration from people who know what going through withdrawals is like.
Thankyou for reading my post.
Thankyou for reading my post.
Great you are here and giving it another go. Shortly after i tok my last drink i made a decision 'not to run from' pain or discomfort. I had done it for long enough- getting sober was the start of a great adventure.
Welcome, Fishescircle. Nervous is fine. Nervous is normal. Everyone is nervous at first. You are right where you need to be. Keep reading and keep posting.
Good luck. I am glad that you are here with us.

Hi Fishescircle...welcome to posting on the SR forum.
I'm Day7 and can tell you that I was terrified on Day1...which thankfully led me here.
Honestly, today is a good day but the earlier ones were hard in a variety of ways...and we can always come here for help and inspiration.

Hi Fishescircle, you've made a wonderful decision. I'm on day 9 myself and I'm looking forward to a life of sobriety. This is a great forum to be a part of, you'll find fantastic support. Just keep reading and posting It'll make you stronger.
Welcome Fishes. I'm glad you found us. We all understand what you're going through.
Being anxious and emotional is completely normal - and it will pass. For me it was 2-3 days & I began to feel so much better. Just hold on to the thought that life is about to become so much better for you. We're glad you're here. Keep talking to us.
